Jumpoff/Shoreline Trail - First Ever RMB Video!

So this is my first ever video on this blog - short, a little bumpy, you might want to lose your lunch after watching it bounce around (I was videoing as I rode with one hand, phone in the other), but its a start - hopefully the start of many other good videos on this blog.

A few other photos also from our ride on the Shoreline Trail from the Jumpoff trailhead to 12th Street.

Virgin River Rim Trail

Our starting point
On day two of our Cedar City trip we biked the last 10 miles (a very approximate number at this point) of the Virgin River Rim Trail.  This was a fun trail with a lot of up and down winding on the trail through the course of it.

At the beginning of our ride

This ride would have a small climb, level out, then drop down for a bit, and then kept repeating that cycle for the first section of our ride.

There were a ton of trees down on the trail

There were a ton of beautiful aspens that we were riding through

Near wreck - my cousin stopped at a fallen log and I slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting him, which resulted in an endo.  The best part though was that he caught my bike before it completely flipped, I stepped out of my clips and stayed on my feet!

The last section, heading down a double track.

Cedar Trip: "Bumper" Creek and Louder Ponds

Group photo on the Louder Ponds portion
Starting off on Brian's Head Peak
My uncle, cousin, dad, and a few of my uncle's family friends got together down in Cedar City for a couple day bike trip.  We stayed at one of the friend's cabins, and put in as much riding as we could.  My dad and I ended up missing the first ride on Thunder Mountain due to my little sister having her first child (a cute little boy), but still hit the second ride on the first day and the second day ride.

We started off by riding the Bunker Creek trail, which could appropriately be named "Bumper" Creek due to how rocky the trail is on the downhill.  The trail starts at Brian's Head Peak, then a little ways down we split off onto a portion of the Louder Ponds Trail.  Shortly after passing Louder Ponds we cut across a meadow, found another trail that goes past another pond and downhill, then cut across some more meadows until we hit the road, called Sidney Valley Rd. (for more info on the exact trail check out utahmountainbiking.com).  At that point we get back on the Bunker Trail and go left to hit the Right Hand Fork Trail (go figure).  At that point it is a gnarly downhill trail that was an absolute blast, and in total we rode about 13.9 miles.

Riding tubeless one of our riders got a flat
A couple of our riders had gone tubeless, and one of them actually ended up getting a flat on the Bunker Creek portion.  To repair it we stuck a gel wrapper in the tire, and we could actually see the wrapper poking through, but the tire stayed intact for the rest of the ride still!
Towards the end, just before we hit the final doubletrack portion

Looking across to the Ogden valley
I went for a quick morning ride this particular Saturday about four miles up the Northern Skyline trail in Ogden.  I love this ride - great climbs, good downhill, awesome views.  I ended up going to the top of the switchbacks, rode along the eastern side, and then ended up turning around after the switchback to where it pops out on the western side overlooking North Ogden.
Going up a particularly technical switchback
On the ride down, about a mile or less into the downhill, a family passed me hiking.  As the father was passing he pointed out that I had a flat - an observation I had not yet noticed actually.  Turns out that my valve stem, which had kind of broken on my previous ride, had started leaking air.  I didn't have a spare tube on me, and nothing I could do to repair it, so I tried twice to pump it up and keep riding, but eventually gave up and just hauled my bike about three miles down the trail on my shoulder.
